Position Overview
The position is for a Quality Assurance Analyst in the Information Technology – Systems Development group of a dynamic and growing firm. The Quality Assurance Analyst will perform a variety of job responsibilities related to vision and development of our software application platform.
The contract assignment serves as a QA Analyst in the Information Technology Department. The primary responsibilities of this assignment are: testing and quality assurance of functional applications, configuration and maintenance of test environments for custom and vendor financial software. The QA Analyst will be responsible for, but not be limited to, the following:
- Creating automated and manual test scripts, test plans and test cases
- Execute automated and manual test plans
- Participating in functional testing, regression testing and performance testing of proprietary and vendor financial software
- Identify bugs, issues, risks, and bottlenecks within the software system. Follow-up with the stakeholders and team members to resolve
Professional Skills
- The individual must have a passion for software testing and finding bugs in software prior to deployment
- Highly motivated self starter, but team player who works well on cross functional teams
- Strong analytical skills and ability to portray information in a logical and well organized manner
- Proven record of developing strong, positive relationships with the software development team, especially developers and business analysts
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the client solution and deliverables
Technical Skills
The individual’s experience should be specific to the financial industry and clearly be focused on testing/quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience with Agile Project Management is a strong plus; namely SCRUM or Lean
- Understanding and experience with full testing lifecycle management and SDLC; namely Agile SDLC processes
- Experience in a BA or QA role for an Asset Management financial accounting or trading application. Could also have applicable experience with an administrator or transfer agent system
- Proven ability to learn new, complex financial applications quickly
- Proven ability to focus on value based testing and coverage with a dedication to delivery and time estimates
- Creative, solutions-oriented tester that focuses on testing coverage in the most effective and efficient way possible
- Experience with automated testing solutions, test scripts or test harnesses. Experience with Compuware’s TestPartner, a strong plus
- Experience with Microsoft applications and MS SQL Server, a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
- Excellent communication skills
