Position Overview

For a client, SPR Companies is looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all QA activities. This is a working manager position; strong testing skills – both manual and automated – are a must. The position is a salaried employee of the client.

We are expanding our solution portfolio in many directions – search, mobile, rich Internet experience, etc. – and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Quality Assurance team, and directing their work
  • Quality Assurance responsibilities across all departments
  • Maintaining high visibility into QA projects and progress
  • Creating and reviewing manual and automated test strategies, plans and scripts
  • Hiring and reviewing both onshore and offshore resources
  • More fully integrating QA into Agile/Scrum processes
  • Substantively guiding the QA team, including motivating and mentoring from entry-level to senior engineers
  • Cultivating a collaborative environment across Development and Quality Assurance
  • Providing after-hours support as required

And you have these technical skills/experiences:

  • 5+ years in professional web-based application quality assurance for consumer or large-scale commercial applications
  • 2+ years automated testing experience using Selenium IDE & Remote Control/WebDriver with Java
  • 2+ years QA management experience
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, following industry standard practices for testing and documentation
  • Designing and executing tests across many operation system/browser combinations
  • Load testing experience, e.g. JMeter
  • Writing SQL queries
  • Experience with QA on mobile applications and web sites is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
