Test automation is essential to keep up with the velocity of Agile sprints and is key to reducing the cycle time and effort of a large and growing manual regression suite. Furthermore, without test automation DevOps will deploy new software builds quicker that may lack quality. There are various degrees of success with automation with some testing organizations achieving 70% automated tests while other testing groups try and abandon automation due to a lack of ROI or a huge maintenance headache.
